Send SARS to Boko Haram Area says Tambuwal

News

Sokoto State Governor, Rt Hon Aminu has revealed he would send the recently disbanded SARS squad to Boko Haram ridden area where they can face people terrorizing innocent people.

Tambuwal said he would with just some slight and quick adjustment send the officers of the disbanded SARS outfits to areas of country dominated by unproductive enemies of Nigeria.

The Governor made the remark at the state capital during the swearing-in ceremony of the Sokoto State INEC Commissioner.

Commenting on the #Endsars protest Tambuwal noted that it was wrong and dangerous to underestimate or try to shut the Nigerian youths.

For Tambuwal, the least those in power can do is to listen to young people and meet their demands.

Governor Tambuwal also noted a general reform of the Nigerian Police Force is overdue the new NPF, not just SARS or SWAT, needs to understand that we are in a democracy and that the police are there to serve the people and the state must take good care of the police and all servicemen. Bad governance is at the root of many of the discontent. The government must be seen to be effective and fair and sensitive to all. A situation where a partisan media aide is nominated to act as INEC Commissioner is not good for peace and trust in the institution Tambuwal observed.
