CIAPS To Hold Stakeholders’ Meeting On Child Education October 16.

In its efforts to improve student’s performance and learning experience, the Centre for International Advanced and Professional Studies (CIAPS), Lagos, will hold a stakeholders’ meeting for parents, teachers, among others.

The Centre Director, CIAPS, Prof. Anthony Kila, in a statement made available to journalists, said that this edition of Brunch @ CIAPS, themed: “Getting the Best Out of Your School,” is targeted at parents and teachers, as well as help parents understand how schools can work better for them.

The programme, which will take place at CIAPS Hall – 5 Akinola Cole Crescent, Off Adeniyi Jones Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos, on Sunday, October 16, 2022, from 12:30 pm, will attract a fee of N15,000 per parent or guardian while couples will pay N25,000.

Kila said that the programme is an initiative of CIAPS, with input from ECAPS, Cambridge, The Association of Head Teachers UK and PTA UK.

“It is aimed at parents, guardians, teachers and school heads interested in improving student performance, learning experience and relationships between school and homes, Prof Kila said, adding that the “Programme has been designed with a lot of input from parents, teachers, school administrators, top education consultants and children.

“It will be an opportunity to share direct and inside tips about our ever-moving sector and develop means of giving our children the best. Schools will get the chance to emphasise the role and responsibilities of parents. For parents, it will be a chance to express themselves and learn how to best communicate and engage with schools.”

Activities for the day, according to the CIAPS director, will include: Conversations with teachers, parents, school heads; A meet with the author of the book: “Why That Child Will Fail”, Samuel Obong; Buffet to be provided by Lo Sfizio, among others.

According to him, key areas to be covered in the programme include: Beyond Teachers and Students: Understanding & Managing Stakeholders that influence our children’s Education; Teachers Voices: Expectations and Frustrations; Dealing with Financial Stress; Managing Performance: Assessment and Evaluation of our Children; and Communication and Management of Emotional and Social Issues.
