How gunmen in mini bus murdered Prince Akinloye Lagos monarch’s son

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the killing of Demola Akinloye in the Lekki area of the state by yet-to-be-identified gunmen travelling in a mini-bus.

The victim, 50 years of age was said to be driving home when he was attacked by the gunmen.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ben Hundeyin, confirmed the incident on Tuesday, disclosing that it happened on Sunday around 12:30 p.m., along Chevron Drive, Lekki, while Akinloye was driving in his black Corolla near Bourdillon Court Estate’s gate.

Hundeyin said a distress call was received at the police station that a man, later identified as Akinloye, was shot and stabbed to death.

The PPRO said police visited the crime scene and one expended cartridge was recovered.

He said the corpse was moved to a morgue in Ajah for preservation and autopsy.

Expectedly, the killing caused panic in the community, leading to residents deserting the area.

A source who spoke on condition of anonymity said, following the murder of Akinloye, who was the son of the Ojomu of Ajiranland, the community has been deserted and fear has gripped  the entire area.

The source said when the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Adegoke Fayoade, visited the community on Monday, he urged residents to not to panic, but to remain calm and continue with their lawful business, but many residents quickly fled from the community immediately the police boss left the area.
